Kris Benson HVAC: A family tradition continues…..

Born in 1968, Kris Benson was introduced to the air conditioning industry early on, working alongside his father, Richard Benson. Richard, an engineer at NASA, also ran a small air conditioning and heating business called R. Benson’s Kool Air. Growing up, Kris spent much of his free time helping out after school and on weekends, starting with basic tasks around the shop. His father instilled in him the values of faith in God and the importance of honest business principles—beliefs that became the foundation of their work. Richard always emphasized that business ethics should reflect what we believe and how we treat others.

As Kris gained experience, he took on more responsibility, eventually becoming an installer of new equipment. Once he was old enough to drive, Kris began handling service calls independently, balancing full-time work with his education. When Richard retired from NASA in 1992, he and Kris made their side business a full-time venture. Kris continued to work alongside his father in various roles—owner, operator, serviceman, and installer—until Richard stepped away from the business due to health concerns.

At that point, Kris sought additional experience by working with an HVAC manufacturer for a couple of years. During this time, he earned his state license and decided to carry on the family tradition. He started his own company, Kris Benson HVAC, with a commitment to providing quality service at fair rates. Through it all, Kris has remained dedicated to putting his faith first, treating his customers with respect and honesty, and striving to reflect God in all of his work.
